The Madrid Fusión event led to a parallel initiative: 60 gastronomy journalists from various
countries decided to draw up a list of the ten most influential chefs in the last ten years. The list was headed by Ferran Adrià, followed
by the French chef, Alain Ducasse and the foremost exponent of Basque cuisine, Juan Mari Arzak.
